Education:
Dr. Miller received a B.A. degree in Social Psychology from Harvard
University, and M.A. and Ph.D. in Sociology from the University
of Minnesota and a mini-MBA from the University of St. Thomas.
He also did Post-Doctoral work at the University of Minnesota's
Humphrey Institute in Evaluation Methods.

Short Biography:
Dr. Gary J. Miller has held major leadership positions at The
Minneapolis Foundation, The Saint Paul Foundation, the United
Way of Minneapolis Area, The City, Inc., and the State of Minnesota
Legislative Audit Commission. He has also been an independent
consultant in the areas of inner-city community development and
programming, philanthropy, program evaluation, and community research,
working in both the public and nonprofit sectors.
At The Minneapolis Foundation, The Saint Paul Foundation, and
the United Way of Minneapolis, Dr. Miller headed major grant-making
programs and community initiatives, as well as directing research
and community planning efforts.
For the past two decades, Dr. Miller has been an independent
consultant in the areas of inner-city community development and
programming, philanthropy, program evaluation, and community research.
He has worked in a variety of capacities as a researcher, evaluation
consultant, community planner, program developer, funder, and
fundraiser.
