These associations collaborate with and support the work of government and public officials. They provide educational programs, training, research and communications essential to government, professionals, citizens and communites.

Association of Minnesota Counties - www.mncounties.org

This is a voluntary statewide organization that assists the state’s 87 counties in providing effective county governance to the people of Minnesota. Its mission is to assist in the provision of effective county governance for the people of Minnesota. The association works closely with the legislative and administrative branches of government in seeing that legislation and policies favorable to counties are enacted. In addition, it provides educational programs, training, research and communications for county officials.

The AMM is a service and lobby organization for cities in the metropolitan area. Membership is open to cities in the seven county metropolitan area that are members of the League of Minnesota Cities (LMC). Its mission is to serve as the primary representative of the collective interests of all metropolitan cities on metropolitan and statewide issues with unique metropolitan significance.

The League represents more than 800 Minnesota cities with efforts focused on Policy development , Advocacy , Information-sharing, Education and training, Insurance coverage and services and Products and services

The Minnesota Association of Townships is a voluntary membership organization representing 1,784 of Minnesota's 1,789 organized townships and nearly 9,000 elected township officers. As the association for townships, we provide education, training and technical services to township officers and represent townships before the state legislature and state agencies.

North Metro Mayors’ Association - www.nmmayors.org

The North Metro Mayors Association is a coalition of 21 North Metro communities and a number of business leaders initiating action and providing leadership to ensure equitable distribution of quality development and redevelopment and shared tax resources throughout the metropolitan area. Work programs focus on transportation and transit funding, local government aids, fiscal disparities, affordable housing, tax increment financing, tax reform, economic development and a variety of other issues.

The mission of AMSD is to advocate for state education policy that enables metropolitan school districts to improve student learning. In existence since 1974, AMSD currently represents twenty-six K-12 metropolitan school districts and three joint powers school districts and the 240,000+ students in those districts, over 29% of the state's students.
